The engine is the heart of the car. It’s what keeps the car going. It’s connected to a lot of other essential parts of the vehicle. Just like people, if the heart isn’t well-maintained, bad things can happen. And when they do, it may take a lot of money to have the engine fixed.

Here are some helpful tips to make sure your car engine stays healthy.

1. Change your oil regularly.

Every time you use your car, the oil goes through several processes, and its level goes lower. Extremely high temperatures cause the oil to lose its lubrication properties. Car owners who ignore oil changes run the risk of having their oil turn to sludge.

2. Replenish oil supplies.

Whereas oil change keeps the oil from turning into sludge, a healthy supply of oil in the engine can keep things lubricated and avoid friction that can lead to immediate wear and tear. Too much friction in the engine parts can cause a complete breakdown and subsequently, expensive repairs.

3. Have your engine checked frequently.

It’s not enough to have your oil clean and abundant. Engine checks by professionals are also very important. Through routine checks, mechanics and specialists can tell you if there are parts that need replacing.

What To Consider Before Getting a Golden Retriever

Are you thinking of raising a golden retriever?  If so, there are plenty of things to consider because taking care of this dog breed is a responsibility as it is a privilege.  Examples of what you should know about golden retrieves are listed below:

• They require companionship.  They are, literally, social animals and cannot be left without human touch for more than five hours in a day.  If they are alone for too long, they can develop separation anxiety, and in rare cases, destructive behavior.  

• They need exercise.  Golden retrievers have boundless energy, and if they are not allowed to exercise, such as running, fetching, hiking, or swimming, they release the pent-up energy through bad behaviors or bad habits.  These dogs also love food, thus, in addition to exercise, they also need to be trained in self-control.

• They shed massive amounts of hair, particularly during spring and autumn.  A schedule should be set aside for cleaning of fur. Otherwise, it would build upon the carpet and furniture.  Fur loss can be minimized by brushing the golden retriever three to five times a week for more than 15 minutes each instance.  Bathing also helps.

• They are likely to mess around inside and outside the house.  Because of their playful nature and unawareness of how big and heavy they are, golden retrievers are prone to knocking down furniture, chewing on things they are not supposed to, and ruining the garden.

We all have our hobbies and passions. Some may be expensive, and some may not cost a single cent, yet all of those make us feel better about ourselves and take our minds off of stressful situations. Being a fan of American muscle cars has got me wanting to restore one car after another. However, it’s not an easy hobby to maintain since it costs a lot and not all restorations are wise to take on. Here are some tips you should take note of if you consider restoring a classic car.

Find a car 

A classic car that’s been partially restored can be cheaper than finding one that’s very rare and hasn’t been restored. You may initially have to pay more for this than getting an unrestored one, but it will cost you less in the process of making it better and totally working. Join classic car clubs and look for listings online. Social media groups are great sources of listings and contacts to get your hands on the best classic cars. 

Find parts 

Same with finding a car, online listings through social media groups would give you a head’s up on where to best get the parts for your classic car. 

Have a garage 

It’s best to have your own garage so you can oversee every improvement that takes place in your car. If you don’t have a space in your home, find a garage that best suits your passion and perfect for your classic car.

These two-door sports cars with top-grade engines are American originals that have beguiled collectors for decades. The cult following provides the exciting climate of looking for the best finds as collectors scour garages, dealerships, and other places for that great car.

Three accident-proof games for your next family camping trip

Though they take a lot of time for preparation, family camping trips are fun. But children will tend to get bored in these trips especially when they’re away from the comfort of their home.

So, here are three camping activities that will make sure your children won’t utter the words “I’m bored.”

1. Scavenger hunt

Kids love scavenger hunts, and the outdoors is a great place to hold one. Have them collect items that are readily available in the area. Use cloth bags rather than plastic to store items. To make it a little competitive, have the losing team roast and serve marshmallows at night.

2. Camping Olympics

This is an all-day event that can turn your camping trips to one of the most memorable ever. Long jump can be done on a sandy beach, relay races in an open area, and swimming competitions in the water. Grab a rope to play tug-of-war. Just remember to keep it light for younger kids.

3. Cloud watching

This is perfect for when you want to rest after an exhausting day of games and activities. Just spread out a blanket in a shady spot and stare at the sky. You can play I spy or just chill out and tell stories.

Kids, Gadgets, And Effective Time Out

Parents use their gadgets as a way to pacify their crying child. It’s no longer surprising to see a two-year old navigate mobile apps. Before they even learn how to write, they are already familiar with switching from one app to another. Though it may be amazing to see kids become so familiar with technology, excessive use of gadgets may cause developmental problems in them.

Gadget use of children is not altogether bad. Its excessiveness is what’s alarming for parents and doctors alike. Just like with any other toy, if you take it away from them, they may cry, throw a tantrum, or plead to you until you give it back. Some parents are accused of being lazy for not being strict enough to implement rules for the kid’s use of the gadget. In order to prevent tantrums and loud cries, parents offer their phones to the kid to keep him quiet. This may have an affect on how they deal with people in the future.

Parents should set an example when it comes to using gadgets. If you’re glued to your phone, your child might just become like you. Spend more time with them and let them know that there are other ways to play and have fun. If possible, refrain from using your phone when you’re together. Nothing beats human interaction.

Be sure to be the parent in every situation. Gadget use requires your permission. Set a time for their use, and be strict in following it. Teach them the importance of moderation. Start them young by teaching them how to control their urges to use the gadget as excessive could be harmful to them.

If excessive use continues, it might be time for a time out. Digital detox would allow them to explore various activities different from gadget use. Doing it with them may encourage them to keep at it to lessen their gadget use. Explain to them that what you’re doing is for their growth, and let them experience that it is your role, as the parent, to oversee their development.
